Title: Health Literacy and End-of-Life Preferences
Developed under the guidance of Dr. David Tillman, Public Health/Physician Assistant

The older population is growing and death has become synonymous with old age. Research suggests that males, African-Americans, and urban dwellers prefer aggressive end-of-life care. Recent research contends these preferences are mediated by health literacy. This study examines the interactions between health literacy, race, and residency relating to end-of-life preferences.
