Title: Just Don't Mention the Teacher: An Empirical Study of Off-Campus, On-line Student Speech Cases
Developed under the guidance of Prof. Lisa Lukasik, School of Law

This study examined win/loss rates from First Amendment freedom of speech cases where schools punished students for something they posted online. The results of this study showed that students lose these cases more often when the content of a student's speech mentions a school employee as opposed to another student. As such, students would be well advised to not speak negatively of their teachers online.
