Title: Product Design and Critical Attribute Characterization of Inhalable Ipratropium Bromide (IPB) Microspheres
Developed under the guidance of Dr. William Stagner, Pharmaceutical Sciences

The objective of this study is to generate inhalable IPB microspheres by spray drying technique and investigate the influence of excipients and manufacturing process on physicochemical properties of the product. Inhalable IPB microspheres are prepared by employing lactose monohydrate and L-leucine. Critical process parameters for spray drying will be investigated and the process will be optimized by experimental design techniques. Spray-dried microparticles will be characterized for various physico-chemical properties. This is a phenomena/investigational study which is expected to generate inhalable particles by spray drying using lactose monohydrate and L-leucine as carriers having different physicochemical properties.
